(cepic.org) On 30 November 2010, the «Koninklijke Bibliotheek (KB/ Dutch National Library) and two Dutch collecting societies, LIRA (text) and Pictoright (visual autors) stroke an agreement which makes three millions of newspapers pages until 1995 available to the public on-line.

Collecting societies LIRA and Pictoright manage a point of contact (Meldpunt digitalisering) where cultural institutions may submit their digitization projects. If the digitization occurs within the institution, intra muros, no compensation is expected. On-line digitization projects for public purpose will be subject to compensation. This allows cultural institutions to make their newspapers archives available on-line against the payment of a fee.
